Computrainer Training for Cal 70.3/Wildflower

STARTING OFF THE YEAR FAST AND FURIOUS!
We didn’t waste anytime kicking the year’s training into high gear with our first Computrainer California 70.3 Half Ironman simulation last weekend. If you are not familiar with the Computrainer you can see a screen shot of the display here above. You bring your own bike which is then setup on a bike trainer that is conected to a computer. The computer can run a wide variety of triathlon course including many Half Ironman and Ironman courses. You then ride the selected course in real time against the other participating riders. The elevation profile is displayed on the 52 inch monitor in the cycling room along with your relative position on the course. When properly set up it is as close to actually riding the course as you can get. We will be running the Cal 70.3 and Wildflower courses for the next several months and then start rolling through other upcoming races. This is for all levels from first timers to elite because you ride at your own effort level. Riders completed last weekend’s session anywhere from 2hrs40 min to 3 hours 30 min.
